Cosmetics Safety Disclaimer
Cosmetics Safety Disclaimer
The same rigor we bring to every small-batch formula, we bring to every claim on this page. Here is precisely what our Skin, Hair, and Homme elixirs are, what they are not, how to use them safely, and how we meet cosmetics law in the United States, Japan, and Europe.
Why This Disclaimer Exists
This Cosmetics Safety Disclaimer explains, in plain and specific terms, what La Bâché LC Bryant LLC ("La Bâché," "we," "us," or "our") sells through shoplabache.com — a small-batch line of facial serums, botanical hair oils, and Homme grooming balms and beard elixirs — and how we approach safety, labeling, and regulatory compliance for every one of those categories.
We are registered at 6560 N Mascher Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19120, United States, and we ship our formulas to customers across the United States, Japan, and the European Union, EEA, and United Kingdom. Because cosmetics law differs meaningfully between these regions, this page has been written to address each jurisdiction on its own terms rather than as a single generic overlay.
This disclaimer should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Legal Notice. Nothing on this page is intended as medical or legal advice; where this disclaimer and a product's physical label differ, the label controls.
In one sentenceEvery product La Bâché sells — the Blueberry Luxé Élixir Facial Serum, Élixir Romarin Rosemary Mint Hair Oil, and the Parfum D'Homme Balm and Serum — is a cosmetic product intended to cleanse, condition, moisturize, scent, or beautify. None of them are drugs, and none are intended to diagnose, cure, treat, mitigate, or prevent any disease.
What Our Products Are — and Are Not
Every item across our Skin, Hair, and Homme collections is classified and labeled as a cosmetic, consistent with the U.S. Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act as amended by the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA), Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 in the European Union, and Japan's Act on Securing Quality, Efficacy and Safety of Products Including Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices (the "PMD Act"). In each of these frameworks, a cosmetic is a product intended to be applied to the human body to cleanse, beautify, promote attractiveness, alter the appearance, or condition the skin and hair — not to affect the structure or function of the body.
Skin
The Blueberry Luxé Élixir Facial Serum is a leave-on facial cosmetic formulated to visibly brighten, firm, and protect the skin's surface using antioxidant-rich botanical extracts.
Cosmetic — Facial SerumHair
The Élixir Romarin Rosemary Mint Hair Oil is a leave-on or pre-wash hair and scalp cosmetic formulated to condition strands and support a healthy-looking scalp environment.
Cosmetic — Hair OilHomme
The Parfum D'Homme Balm and Serum (Brazilian Mandarin & Sandalwood) are leave-on facial-hair and skin cosmetics formulated to condition, soften, and lightly scent beard and facial skin.
Cosmetic — Beard Balm & SerumWe Do Not Diagnose, Treat, Cure, Mitigate, or Prevent Disease
Our products are cosmetics, not drugs. They do not cure, treat, mitigate, prevent, or diagnose disease. Any language you see across shoplabache.com — including words like "brightens," "firms," "conditions," "protects from environmental stressors," or "softens" — describes a cosmetic effect on the appearance or feel of skin, hair, or facial hair, not a therapeutic or physiological change to the structure or function of the body.
Where a product references an ingredient's general antioxidant or conditioning properties (for example, vitamin C, vitamin E, or botanical extracts), that reference describes the ingredient's known cosmetic function within the formula. It is not a representation that the finished product will produce a clinical or medical outcome, and it is not a substitute for the advice of a dermatologist or physician.
These statements have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Ingredient Transparency & INCI Labeling
Every La Bâché product carries a full ingredient declaration, listed in International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI) naming, on the product's physical packaging and on its product page at shoplabache.com. INCI is the standardized naming convention required or recognized across all three of our markets, so the same ingredient list is legible to a customer, a regulator, or a dermatologist in the United States, Japan, or Europe alike.
As an example of how we disclose this, the Blueberry Luxé Élixir Facial Serum's declared ingredients are:
Ingredient lists for the Élixir Romarin Rosemary Mint Hair Oil and the Parfum D'Homme Balm and Serum appear in full on each product's individual listing and on the packaging you receive. If you cannot locate the ingredient list for a product you own or are considering, email bonjour@shoplabache.com and we will send it to you directly.
We formulate without parabens, sulfates, or synthetic fragrance in the Blueberry Luxé Élixir, and we disclose comparable "free-from" claims only where we can substantiate them for the specific product in question — we do not apply a blanket "clean" or "non-toxic" label across the entire catalog.
Fragrance & Allergen Disclosure
The Parfum D'Homme Balm and Serum are scented with a Brazilian Mandarin & Sandalwood fragrance blend and, like most naturally and synthetically fragranced cosmetics, may contain constituents recognized in the European Union as fragrance allergens under Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009, Annex III — for example, limonene and linalool, which occur naturally in citrus peel oils such as mandarin. Where present above the regulatory threshold, these allergens are individually named in the ingredient list on the product packaging, in addition to the general term "Parfum" or "Fragrance."
If you have a known fragrance allergy or sensitive skin, we recommend reviewing the full ingredient list before use and completing the patch test described in Section 6. Customers in the United States should also note that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, under authority granted by MoCRA, is developing a fragrance allergen labeling rule; we monitor that rulemaking and will update our packaging and this disclosure once a final rule and compliance date are published.
Common Sensitizers
Citrus-derived terpenes (such as limonene), linalool, and other essential-oil constituents can affect sensitive or compromised skin, even in naturally derived fragrance blends.
Full Disclosure on Pack
Regulated fragrance allergens above threshold are named individually on the printed ingredient list, not hidden behind "Parfum" alone.
Discontinue on Irritation
Stop use immediately and rinse thoroughly with water if you notice redness, itching, burning, or swelling.

Patch Test Recommendation & Directions for Use
Because every La Bâché formula is a concentrated, botanically active product, we recommend a simple patch test before first use of any new item — the serum, the hair oil, or either Homme formula:
- Apply a small amount of the product to a discreet area of skin, such as the inner forearm or behind the ear.
- Leave undisturbed for 24 to 48 hours without washing the area.
- If you notice redness, itching, burning, hives, or swelling at any point, wash the area with water and do not proceed to full-face, scalp, or beard application.
- If no reaction occurs, the product may be used as directed on the packaging and product page.
For everyday use, apply only the amount described on the product label, avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes, and rinse thoroughly with water if accidental eye contact occurs. Facial and beard oils and serums are intended for external, topical use only and are not intended to be ingested.
Storage, Handling & Shelf Life
- Keep out of reach of children. Our formulas are adult-use cosmetics and are not formulated, tested, or packaged for use by children.
- Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and away from heat sources, to preserve the stability of botanical extracts, oils, and active ingredients.
- Keep bottles and jars tightly closed between uses to limit air and moisture exposure, and always use clean hands or an applicator to avoid introducing contaminants.
- Discontinue use if irritation occurs and consult a physician or dermatologist if a reaction persists after rinsing the product away.
- Period-after-opening (PAO). Once opened, we recommend using each product within 6 to 12 months for optimal freshness and efficacy; the PAO symbol and any batch or lot code appear on the product packaging where applicable.
Age Recommendations, Pregnancy & Nursing Guidance
Our full catalog is formulated for adult customers. We do not market or recommend any La Bâché product for use on children, and none of our formulas — including the Blueberry Luxé Élixir Facial Serum, Élixir Romarin Rosemary Mint Hair Oil, or the Parfum D'Homme Balm and Serum — are intended, tested, or labeled for pediatric use.
The Blueberry Luxé Élixir Facial Serum contains Retinyl Palmitate, a vitamin A derivative. As with any retinoid-adjacent cosmetic ingredient, customers who are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or nursing should review the full ingredient list with their physician or OB-GYN before use, out of general caution common to this ingredient category — this is a precautionary recommendation, not a statement that the product is unsafe when used as directed.
Not a substitute for medical adviceIf you are pregnant, nursing, managing a skin condition, or under the care of a dermatologist or physician for any reason, we recommend reviewing any new cosmetic product with your provider before adding it to your routine.
United States, Japan & Europe
La Bâché ships to customers across all three regions, so this section addresses each region's specific cosmetics framework directly rather than as a generic overlay. Select a region below.
Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA) & FDA Framework
Our cosmetics are manufactured and marketed in line with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act as amended by MoCRA, which took effect in stages beginning in 2023 and strengthened FDA oversight of the cosmetics industry.
Facility Registration
Facilities that manufacture or process our cosmetics for the U.S. market register with the FDA and renew that registration biennially, as MoCRA requires.
Product Listing
Each La Bâché cosmetic product is listed with the FDA, including its ingredient information, consistent with MoCRA's product-listing requirement.
Safety Substantiation
We maintain records supporting the safety of each formula for its intended use, as required under MoCRA's safety-substantiation provision.
Adverse Event Recordkeeping
We keep records of adverse events reported to us for the period MoCRA requires and report serious adverse events to FDA within 15 business days, as described in Section 10.
Labeling on physical packaging discloses the ingredient list, net quantity, place of business, and any required warning statements consistent with FDA cosmetic labeling regulations under 21 CFR Part 701.
PMD Act Cosmetics Classification
Products we ship into Japan are classified as "cosmetics" ("化粧品") under Japan's PMD Act, meaning they are intended to cleanse, beautify, and condition the skin and hair without producing a pharmacological effect on the body.
Notification, Not Approval
Standard cosmetics manufactured or imported for the Japanese market are subject to notification to the relevant prefectural governor rather than individual pre-market approval, consistent with PMD Act procedure for this product category.
Not Quasi-Drugs
None of our current products are formulated, tested, or marketed as "quasi-drugs" ("医薬部外品"), a distinct Japanese regulatory category with its own active-ingredient standards; if that ever changes for a future product, we will disclose it clearly on that product's listing.
Ingredient Standards
Formulas intended for the Japanese market are reviewed against Japan's Standards for Cosmetics and restricted, permitted, and prohibited ingredient lists maintained under the PMD Act.
No Medical Claims
Marketing directed at Japan-based customers avoids therapeutic or medical claims, consistent with the cosmetics classification and Japan's Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations.
EU Cosmetic Products Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009
Products sold to customers in the European Union, EEA, or United Kingdom are formulated and labeled to meet Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 (and, in the UK, the equivalent UK Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulation regime).
Responsible Person
Every cosmetic product placed on the EU market has a designated Responsible Person, identified by name and address on the product's outer packaging, who ensures the product meets Regulation 1223/2009 before it reaches an EU customer.
CPNP Notification
Products intended for the EU market are notified through the Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP) before being placed on the market, as Article 13 of Regulation 1223/2009 requires.
Product Information File (PIF)
A Product Information File, including the safety assessment, is maintained for each formula and kept available to EU market surveillance authorities for ten years after the last batch is placed on the market.
Allergen Labeling
Fragrance allergens listed in Annex III are individually named on the ingredient list when present above the applicable threshold, as described in Section 5.
If you require the name and address of the Responsible Person for a specific product you are purchasing or have purchased for delivery within the EU, EEA, or UK, contact us at bonjour@shoplabache.com and we will provide it, together with the product's CPNP notification confirmation, before or alongside your order.
Adverse Reaction & Serious Adverse Event Reporting
If you experience an unexpected reaction to any La Bâché product — including but not limited to redness, swelling, burning, hives, blistering, infection, or hospitalization — please stop using the product immediately, rinse the affected area with water, and contact us as soon as possible at bonjour@shoplabache.com or +1 (215) 429-3436. If your reaction is severe, seek medical attention first.
Under MoCRA, we are required to keep records of adverse events reported to us regarding our cosmetics and to report any "serious adverse event" — generally, one resulting in death, a life-threatening experience, hospitalization, significant disfigurement, or a similarly serious outcome — to the FDA within 15 business days of receiving it, along with any new material information within one year of the initial report. We take every report seriously, whether or not it ultimately meets that regulatory threshold, and we use what we learn to review formulas, sourcing, and labeling.
Customers in the EU, EEA, or UK may additionally report serious undesirable effects through the mechanisms described in our Responsible Person disclosure in Section 9, and customers in Japan may report adverse events consistent with PMD Act post-market surveillance requirements. In every region, the fastest and most direct path is to contact us using the details in Section 13.
Third-Party Retailers, Wholesale & Marketplace Sales
La Bâché products sold directly through shoplabache.com carry the labeling, ingredient disclosure, and safety information described throughout this page. We also make our catalog available to wholesale partners through our Faire storefront and, from time to time, at in-person venues such as Flying Solo in New York. Every unit we ship — whether direct-to-consumer or wholesale — leaves us with the same physical label, ingredient list, and safety statements described here.
If you purchased a La Bâché product through a retailer, boutique, or marketplace other than shoplabache.com, that seller's own listing, shipping practices, and return policies are their own and are not controlled by us; however, the safety information, ingredient disclosures, and this Cosmetics Safety Disclaimer apply to the product itself regardless of where it was purchased, and you are always welcome to contact us directly with any safety question about a product you own.
Changes to This Disclaimer
As our formulas evolve, as we introduce new products across Skin, Hair, and Homme, and as cosmetics regulation continues to develop in the United States, Japan, and Europe, we may update this Cosmetics Safety Disclaimer. When we make a material change, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to revisit this page before purchasing a new product or reordering a favorite. Continued use of shoplabache.com after an update constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised disclaimer.
